WHAT TO EXPECT DAY 1

When will I receive the Orientation invitation?
We are excited to get you onboard! Invitations are sent out the Thursday or Friday before your start date.

What should I expect on Day 1?
Blue Beginnings is completely virtual through Zoom. Haven't joined a Zoom meeting before? Join a Zoom test meeting here by yourself to check your connection, and troubleshoot audio and video.
On your first day, you’ll spend the morning in orientation learning about our purpose, your benefits, and useful tools and resources. In the afternoon you’ll connect with your leader or trainer for the remainder of the day. Come with your camera on and be ready to participate!

What If I don’t have my laptop for day 1?
If your equipment doesn't arrive by your first day, you can use your personal device to log into your Blue Beginnings Orientation.

What do I need in terms of day 1 new hire paperwork?
  • Before day 1: Please submit legible, color copies of your chosen documentation to our HR Operations Team at Form.I-9@bcbsma.com. To View Approved Documentation please click here.
  • On day 1: we will complete Section 1 of the Form I9 together during orientation.
  • Between day 1 and day 3: You will need to meet in person with an adult you trust (we will call this person an ‘Authorized Representative’) who will also review your provided documentation and complete Section 2 of the Form I-9 on behalf of BCBSMA. The Form I-9 is due in its entirety (inclusive of any required edits) by 4 PM EST Day 3.

If you have any additional questions, please email Form.I-9@bcbsma.com

Computer & Technical Questions

When will I receive my equipment, and what should I do if it doesn't arrive by my first day?
You should receive your equipment up to one week prior to your start date, either shipped to you or available for local pick-up. More details will be sent to your personal email. If the equipment doesn't arrive by your first day, you can use your personal device to log into Orientation.

I’m moving - Will my equipment be shipped to my new address?
Notify Monique Bailey and your new leader as soon as possible so they can update the shipping address!

Is a signature required for delivery?
No signature is required for delivery.

When can I turn on my laptop?
You can turn your laptop on the morning of your first day. There are paper instructions located in your laptop case. Bypass the SecurID box that asks for a ‘token code’ by clicking the escape ”Esc” button on the top left of your keyboard.

How do I connect to the Virtual Private Network (VPN)?
Please do not connect to VPN or move forward in setting it up your laptop on your own. You will be given further instruction in your orientation session to ensure you are successfully set up.

How do I set up my work station?
All you need for Blue Beginnings is your BCBSMA laptop or personal computer. While you may have received additional equipment such as a monitor, mouse, or docking station, you won't need those for your day one Blue Beginnings Orientation.

I cannot log in to my laptop – now what?
Check to make sure the password is correct. If that does not work, you can use your personal computer to join Blue Beginnings on Zoom. We have our Tech team ready to support you at the beginning of the session.

Zoom isn't working!
Close out of all browser windows and click on the link again. If you join before 10 AM EST, you may be in the waiting room, and we will get started soon! If you’re having audio or video problems join this Zoom test meeting which will walk you through troubleshooting steps.

I only received part of my equipment.
Hang tight – equipment can come in multiple shipments. If you haven’t received everything by the end of day 1 please let your trainer or leader know and they can help troubleshoot.
